Madison VA to be recognized as Dementia Friendly

November 17, 2017

Madison, WI – Dane County and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services will recognize the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital as a “Dementia Friendly Hospital” at a formal ceremony in the main building, room B2055 on November 27th at 12:00 p.m.

The Madison VA will be the first VA Medical Center to receive this recognition.

This designation is the result of a hospital wide effort that includes additional training for hospital staff and volunteers, in addition to signage changes that make it easier for patients to navigate the hospital.

The public and local media are invited to attend this event.

A tour showcasing some of the changes will take place after the ceremony.

Media is asked to R.S.V.P. with the Madison VA Public Affairs Officer: Paul Rickert phone: 608-280-7030; email: paul.rickert@va.gov.
