Urgent Care Benefit Expands in Rockford Area
ROCKFORD, Il. — Physicians Immediate Care has partnered with TriWest and the VA to increase access to Urgent Care for Veterans in North-Central Illinois.
This partnership includes the addition of seven clinics within the greater Rockford area and Freeport that are now available to eligible Veterans for Urgent Care services.
There are also over 50 urgent access pharmacies available to Veterans in the Rockford area. These in network pharmacies can fill 14-day urgent prescriptions written for Veterans who receive care and need a prescription after their visit to an in-network Urgent Care clinic.
In Network Urgent Care locations can be found using the following link: https://vaurgentcarelocator.triwest.com/ .
Veterans can find important information about the Urgent Care benefit and the MISSION Act at https://missionact.va.gov/ .
VA implemented the MISSION Act on June 6th. One provision of this new law established an Urgent Care benefit that allows eligible Veterans access to urgent and walk-in care at participating clinics in their communities.
This Urgent Care benefit is meant to give Veterans a convenient way to get treatment for minor injuries and illnesses such as the flu, colds, strep throat and pink eye. To be eligible for urgent and walk-in care, Veterans must be enrolled in the VA health care system and have received care through VA from either a VA or community provider within the past 24 months.
Veterans may be subject to a $30 copay based on their priority group and the number of visits within a year.
The Rockford and Freeport Community Based Outpatient clinics are extensions of the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison. For more information about the Madison VA Hospital, visit www.madison.va.gov or www.facebook.com/MadisonVAHospital.
