William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital
Women Veterans Wellness Conference, April 9th
The Madison VA is hosting its annual Women Veterans Wellness Conference to recognize and celebrate the service of women in the United States military. Undoubtedly, women play a vital role in the United States military, and the Women Veterans Health program would like to honor women veterans with a half day program full of female-specific health information and presentations. The event will be held on Saturday, April 9th, from 8:00am until 12:15pm.
This year the Women Veterans Wellness Conference will focus on women’s heart health. Presentations by local experts will cover topics like healthy eating by Kristin McCaskey (R.D.), an introduction to My Healthe Vet provided by Jill Everson, and tai chi for women provided by Kristi Rietz (OTR). The program will also include “Her Story,” a DVD to honor women who have served (or are currently serving) in the United States military, and a panel of women veterans who will be sharing their service stories and experiences. It is also important to note that there will be a continental breakfast provided before the program kicks off! We look forward to seeing you there. To register, please call Tara at 608-256-1901, ext. 11619, or online at Womens.email@example.com. When registering, be sure to include your name, address, and daytime telephone number, and whether or not you will need special accommodations (e.g., wheelchair access, etc.).
The Women Veterans Wellness Conference is sponsored by the Women Veterans Health Program at the Madison VA and the University of Wisconsin Center for Women’s Health Research.
