VA Women’s Health Fair-May 14!
National Women’s Health Week is May 13 – 19. Coordinated by United States Department of Health Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health, this effort seeks to empower women to make their health a top priority by taking steps such as receiving routine preventive care, getting active, and eating healthy. Additionally, women will be encouraged to pay attention to their mental health, including getting enough sleep and managing stress.
To kick off this weeklong observation, the Women Veterans Health Program is hosting a Women’s Health Fair at the Madison VA Hospital on Monday, May 14. This informative event is free and open to all women Veterans. Parking is free—just bring your parking stub to the event and a staff person will validate your parking.
The Women’s Health Fair will feature information about a wide range of health issues. Representatives from many specialty areas in the hospital and other agencies will be available for questions at their information tables, which will feature free materials and demonstrations. Topics include (but are not limited to) Tai Chi, stress reduction, health promotion, contraception, menopause, pregnancy, and diabetes. Additionally, some other organizations will be present, including the Red Cross, Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs, and the National Guard.
Women Veterans are invited to join us for the Women’s Health Fair on Monday, May 14, from 10:00am – 2:00 pm in room B2055. Refreshments will be available.
